About Kursana

Kursana operates nursing homes, residences and villas for the elderly as well as care facilities for people  with a disability. At the 116 Kursana facilities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Estonia and Italy, around 6 800 employees care for approximately 13 600 seniors. Kursana is a subsidiary of the Dussmann Group, a global service provider and one of the leading German providers of nursing and care for the elderly. Kursana ia a member of the Dussmann Group and operates 100 facilities in Germany.

Kursana opens new facilities each year where the proportion of single rooms is 80 to 90 percent. Each room has an en-suite, fully accessible bathroom.

Kursana strives to create a new home for its residents and places emphasis on quality furnishings and equipment in addition to professional nursing and care. Features such as spacious rooms, single rooms for all who want one and numerous community rooms to enable residents to participate socially help to create a welcoming atmosphere. The quality of the services such as catering, room cleaning and laundry is also important. Nursing and care is monitored by internal quality managers whose work complements audits by local  authorities and the health insurance commission (MDK).
Most facilities have already been audited and graded by the MDK.  Results confirm the high standards maintained in the nursing and care facilities and out-patient services which have achieved an average of  1,2 . TUV Rheinland has also certified all Kursana Domizil and Residenz facilities.
